Speaker Bio: Dr. Bala
Dr. Bala is a family medicine physician and Associate Medical Director with United Health Centers. UHC is one of the Valley’s largest safety-net healthcare providers, delivering comprehensive care through more than 40 health centers from Fresno to Kern County, including communities where access to essential care is limited.
A graduate of the UCSF Fresno residency program, Dr. Bala chose to stay right here in the Valley and now helps train the next generation of physicians through United Health Centers’ Graduate Medical Education programs.
Dr. Bala has served as an Attending Physician and Curriculum Chair for Obstetrics and Women’s Health at UCSF Fresno. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. At UHC, he has championed women’s health, helping strengthen education, systems, and access around infertility and contraceptive care—especially for women who face the greatest barriers.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re especially grateful to have his perspective on prevention, screening, and what women can do to protect their health at every stage of life.
Dr. Bala has helped shape how primary care providers educate, support, and improve access for women across the Valley.
