SPEAKER BIO:

Jami Hamel DeLaCerda, M.S. SpEd, is the Founder and CEO of

Fresno’s Diamond Learning Center Inc.  Her work experience in

Special Education began over 40 years ago and continues every

day in her professional as well as her personal life.  Jami brought

her visionary dream of L.I.F.E., Learning is for Everyone,(

Principles of L.I.F.E.) to reality, when she developed the

Diamond Learning Center, where adult students achieve their

own successes, no matter their abilities or disabilities.

Jami has served as an Adjunct Professor at California State

University Fresno and Adjunct Professor at Fresno Pacific University.

Founder of Gems for L.I.F.E., providing services for the younger

students, fostering relationships and sibling connections as well

employment opportunities for Adults who have intellectual

disabilities. 2024 Gems for L.I.F.E introduced a unique and one

of a kind inclusive model for employment. Named for Jami’s son

Elijah, E’s Diamond Deli creates sandwich box lunches –with

supported education, adult students achieve their food service

certificate and start their career as sandwich artists. Employment

is supported and the inspiration a delicacy E’s Deli slogan -

Born to Shine, one of a kind, we have your tummy in mind.

2024 Marks an exceptional business milestone for Jami with the

purchase of a new building for Diamond Learning Center, Inc. A

60,000 sq ft forever home. January 2025 Marks the 20th anniversary of

Diamond Leaning Center, Inc providing exceptional services for adults

who have intellectual disabilities. She is the proud mom of three

boys, Isaiah and twins, Samuel and Elijah, whom she affectionately

calls her “Three Kings”. Jami credits her sons for not only being her

greatest blessing but endless inspiration. Jami’s youngest son Elijah

has Down syndrome. Jami actively participated in an instructional

school partnership with Hallmark Charter School in Sanger for Elijah’s

entire school career. Creating adapting  and Advocating for Elijah's

educational and community inclusion is both gratifying and

empowering.  2015 Jami founded ISE Publishing Company, & the

Reading for L.I.F.E. Series. ISE – Including Someone Everyday.  2016

Published Jami’s son Samuel’s inspirational journey – Am I Invisible?

Children’s book. The young, Fresno-born author takes audiences

on a journey of self-discovery, siblinghood, and what it is like to

sometimes feel unseen. Sam’s story is based on his own experiences of

being a brother, and twin to Elijah, who was born with Down

syndrome (DS). Jami and her 3 Kings, have presented and hosted

inspirational family discusses. Speaking in libraries and for

organizations across California.Barnes & Noble hosted a book signing

invent in 2017 for Samuel & Am in Invisible? Samuel’s journey was

shared in both English and Spanish. The message is simple, “Every

Child is Born to Shine! In Samuel’s words, “I am not invisible and

neither are you!
