Speaker Bio:
Sontaya Rose is responsible for all City communications, including responding to media inquiries, conveying through social media and other media City of Fresno decisions and opinions, and leading the effort to communicate Mayor Dyer’s One Fresno vision to the public.
Sontaya is an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 24 years of experience covering major news-making stories in the Fresno region, California, and across the nation. She became a household name in the Valley and developed a reputation as a thorough, fair, honest, and compassionate journalist, whether she was reporting breaking news or covering a feature story.
A lifelong Fresno County resident, Sontaya over the years built many relationships with government officials, residents, and news agencies. She brings those relationships and experiences with her into the Mayor’s Office.
Sontaya is married and has three children. She enjoys gardening, travel, and wine tasting. When not at work, Sontaya can often be found seeking out the best red wines on the Central Coast.
