SPEAKER BIO:
An educational leader for 26 years, Dr. Lori Bennett serves as the President of Clovis Community College. She is responsible for leading one of the newest and fastest growing community colleges in the state. Clovis Community College offers 100 degrees and certificates and serves over 14,000 students annually from across Fresno County. Under Dr. Bennett’s leadership, Clovis Community College was named 2021 Champion of Higher Education, the fourth year in a row, for its exemplary work in awarding associate degrees for transfer. Dr. Bennett is recognized as a transparent, collaborative leader dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and student services. She is also a strong advocate for student equity and success.
Prior to being appointed president, Dr. Bennett served as a faculty member, dean, and executive vice president at Moorpark College. Before moving into the field of education, Dr. Bennett had a successful career in business, including marketing management at a Fortune 500 company and managing her own small business.
Dr. Bennett serves on a variety of state and local boards and committees. She is currently Vice President of the Chief Executive Officers of California Community Colleges and Co-Chair of the CEO Strategic Leadership Program. Dr. Bennett is a member of the Community Health System Finance and Planning Committee and the Clovis Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2021, she received the Board Director of the Year Award. Dr. Bennett is also a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the Fresno K-16 Collaborative, a member of the Fresno County DRIVE Initiative for economic development, and Chair of the Central Valley Community College CEO Caucus (which advocates for the needs our Central Valley community colleges and students)
Dr. Bennett attended Highland High School in Bakersfield. Her educational background includes a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies from California State University, Northridge; a Master’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance, from the University of Chicago; and a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Southern California. Dr. Bennett lives in Fresno, California with her husband, Kenn, and son, Michael. She enjoys visiting her daughters, traveling, and weekend trips to the beach.
Clovis Community College will be requiring proof of vaccination and photo ID for vaccinated individuals or a negative Covid test for unvaccinated individuals. Test must be taken within 72 hours of the event. A table will be set up in front of the entrance and visitors will be asked to show their vaccine card and ID photo prior to entering the meeting.

The college is adhering to the California Department of Public Health and Center for Disease Control recommendations and requires facial coverings while indoors at all Clovis Community College buildings for those that are vaccinated and not vaccinated. While eating during our luncheons, it is ok to remove face coverings.
